Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Group Internal Auditor based out of Bangalore, India reporting to the Group Head of Internal Audit, to work in a truly global environment that provides developmental opportunities for the incumbent who is eager to demonstrate their skills and experience in the fast-paced soft commodities environment.

The internal auditor is responsible for playing a key role in completing company-wide internal audits covering global commodity operations in accordance with annual audit objectives, and holding opening and closing meetings with management, including providing all audit reports. They will assist in the establishment, development, and evaluation of a company’s internal controls over financial reporting, compliance, and business operations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Independently plan and execute internal audits in accordance with audit methodology.
  • Report results of audits and communicate to relevant stakeholders.
  • Recommend effective and efficient controls for identified weaknesses.
  • Identify internal control deficiencies and provide recommendations for improving the organization’s operation, in terms of both efficient and effective performance.
  • Support Internal Audit Road map, risk-based audit planning process.
  • Strives for quality and excellence and encourages others to do the same.
  • Perform Quality Assessment reviews and support Head of IA in Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) in line with IIA standards.

Skills and Experience

  • Com/CA/CISA/CIA with 6-8 years of audit experience, ideally as an external and/or internal auditor within an international company (Big 4, banks, commodity trading, global FMCG or other multinational) or relevant industry experience (finance, compliance, commercial).
  • Knowledge of reviewing the controls over financial reporting, minimum controls audits covering business processes and CSA (control self-assessment) for corporate functions including IT, Risk, HR.
  • Should have prior internal audit exposure (including Big 4) is preferred.
  • IT background who can perform data crunching and technology auditing experience.
  • Experienced in risk management and design of business processes.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbally.
  • The role is based out of Bangalore and requires periodic travel to various locations for onsite audit. Hence, the candidate should be open to travel as per business requirements.

We source or process raw, white and specialty sugars from over 40 producing countries. We sell to refineries, industrial users, wholesalers, retailers and consumers, offering local solutions though a number of in-country purchasing, sales and distribution businesses.

 

Key Accountabilities

The primary aim of this role is to handle all execution activities related to the EDF MAN’s Sugar business.

  1. Execute end to end transportation processes applying defined contractual terms to minimize risks of the execution.
  2. Liaise with suppliers and internal and external customers to plan and manage shipments according to contractual requirements.
  3. Manage sales contracts to ensure their clauses are fully understood and executable, ensuring legal and fiscal requirements.
  4. Ensures review of operational metrics, maintaining accurate controls and delivery as per the expectation of trade execution processes.
  5. Maintain and foster established relationships with customers, clients, suppliers and other business partners, such as supervisory companies, insurance companies, laboratories, agents, warehouses, buyers, and sellers.
  6. Independently solve issues with minimal supervision while escalating complex issues to appropriate staff.

Minimum Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Minimum of two years of related work experience

Skills and Experience

At least five years’ experience in trade execution, logistics, supply chain, trading or similar

Strong knowledge of Incoterms, UCP rules & ISBP, International Shipping Practice.

Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
