The Role

*This Role can be based out of New Orleans, LA or The Woodlands, TX*

As a member of ED&F Man’s Group Technology team, this position is responsible for maintaining the local and wide area networks together with managing multi-vendor firewalls.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a track record of working with a global enterprise network team. Experience of working in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a can-do attitude, showing attention to detail and able to handle work with multiple tasks and prioritise work.

Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:

Below is a list of essential duties of this position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Key network contact within the region for network related tasks, part of a Global Network Team
  • Taking and lead within region root cause analysis into network faults
  • Monitoring alerts with SolarWinds
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for network and security
  • Configuration and management of Cisco network switches and routers
  • Management of Fortinet and Palo Alto security platform, including Next Gen FW features
  • Ad hoc support of networks and cabling etc. as needed understanding different cables mediums
  • Proactively working on network project, ranging from network upgrades to migrations
  • Produce and maintain network documentation
  • Design and planning of network upgrades or changes

Liaise with 3rd party providers to assist in the delivery of external links and network services

  • Certified Cisco CCNA and working towards Cisco CCNP R&S/Security certification
  • Understanding of different IGP integration in an enterprise network
  • Proven experience in routing protocols such as OSPF & BGP
  • Extensive knowledge of FortiGate Firewalls, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer
  • Good knowledge Data Centre of Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama
  • Detailed knowledge of VPN technologies such as IPSEC Site-to-Site, Remote Access
  • History of working with Cisco Catalyst 2960/3750/3850/4500X Switches
  • Good knowledge VOIP Technologies and QoS
  • Understanding of Stacking Technologies such as VSS and VPC
  • Supported Data Centres Switches such Nexus and Dell
  • Good knowledge Windows Servers and Key Services i.e. AD, DHCP and DNS
  • Understanding of VMWare and Networking Services

Understanding of General Microsoft Windows Platform and Network integration

Minimum Level of Education: Degree Level preferred but not essential if relevant experience can be demonstrated in a consultant or architect capacity

Years & Type of Experience:  minimum 5 years of experience in a similar or relevant role and minimum of 8 years in IT support department

Certificates/Licenses:  CCNA/CCNP and NSE4
