Role Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Group Treasury Accountant to prepare financial reports, through diligent adherence to comprehensive processes that provide absolute assurance and integrity of outputs. The role is accountable for the initial preparation and provision of information in Kyriba, including journals, accounting notes and associated audit-trail records for the Group’s Treasury entities. Presentation of these to the Group Treasury Operations Manager which are then sent for onward approval and submission to management, shareholders and lenders, as well as for statutory reporting, and internal and external auditors. The Group Treasury Accountant is core to the Group’s financial reporting through the accurate and on-time preparation of information for management and statutory reporting.

Key Accountabilities
- Ownership and processing of all treasury accounting postings for the relevant MTM entities in Kyriba. Postings from deal capture in TMS through to trial balance postings.
- Accounting postings for all derivative transactions including FX.
- Preparation and first review of debt, debt transaction costs and interest postings/ calculations.
- Accuracy and integrity of prepared accounts, through completion of “first line” reviews and validations.
- Compliance with the formally defined process for the annotation, recording and approval of all manual adjustments, to ensure a transparent and independently verifiable audit trail.
- Preparation of notes and associated first reviews, to ensure accuracy and clarity of explanation, an audit trail and the prevention of errors and misstatements.
- Preparation of all accounts and other information required for statutory compliance for treasury consolidation entities.
- Provision of commentary, analysis and insights for treasury consolidation entity P&L and balance Sheet line items each month, quarter and year end.
- Continually improve treasury accounting processes and further development of TMS automation. Identification and enhancement to consolidation processes as well as any reporting improvements for efficiencies.
- Application of accounting policies and control processes, to ensure the integrity of consolidation accounts. Undertake control reporting to ensure accuracy of interfaced data between systems including reconciliations.
- Compliance with a standard set of definitions for the Group’s Chart of Accounts, to align inputs and outputs and eliminate the need for manual adjustments driven by different definitions and compositions.
- Work in collaboration with the Finance team to provide timely support, analysis and reconciliation over month end reporting timelines.
- Lead or contribute to accounting projects related to treasury processes and reporting.
- Contribution to a high-performance, collaborative team culture within the Treasury function, and company more generally, to deliver the processes, thoroughness and depth of checks and tests for effective consolidation accounting, and an inclusive environment for our people leading to confidence, growth, retention, and reputation.
Skills and Experience
- Experience of financial reporting within a global treasury function.
- Proficient in Treasury Management Systems (ideally Kyriba).
- Qualified Accountant – ACCA / ICAEW (ACA) / CIMA.
- Association of Corporate Treasurers qualifications an advantage.
- Competent knowledge of technical accounting relating to treasury activity, treasury instruments and IFRS implications.
- Competent knowledge of complex inter-company transactions across various entities and consolidation treatments.
- Competent knowledge of end-to-end treasury accounting processes across systems and key stakeholders.
- Knowledge of financial reporting systems (ideally Hyperion).
- Knowledge of commodity futures, swaps and margin calls.
- Competent knowledge of financial process best practices – able to identify and recommend specific, tangible actions to improve governance, processes, controls, systems, accuracy and efficiency.
- Professional and confident, with confidence and credibility at senior level; proficient presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiar with external audit processes and the appropriate professional interactions between auditors and an internal accounting function.
- Detail-driven, results oriented, highly organised and driven to succeed.
- Ability to work in a dynamic multinational environment under tight timelines.
- Proven ability in establishing enduring and effective relationships with key business and financial stakeholders – Finance team colleagues, Treasury team, BU Finance Directors, etc.
