Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as Assistant Financial Controller based in Vietnam to provide key support of all aspects of Finance functions. The role provides long term development potential for someone eager to demonstrate their skills and experience in a challenging and fast paced soft commodities environment. The role will report to Financial Controller and will be based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Key Accountabilities

  • The Assistant Financial Controller will Leading finance team to manage daily finance activities for Vietnam, Singapore, and Shanghai.
  • Undertake all aspects of financial management including group reporting, statutory reports, budget and forecast, business analysis, etc.
  • Be instrumental in the development of internal control procedures.
  • Timely and accurately delivery of Group reports including monthly P&L and balance sheet, performance review against budget, cost analysis and country risk report.
  • Coordinate and lead the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with Minimum Control Standards and maintain a high level of finance risk management. Perform limit & exposure reviews and take corrective action (if needed).
  • Tax & legal compliance including experience of monthly VAT submissions and annual corporation tax submissions, monthly review and ensure tax exposure are minimized.
  • Manage cash position including allocation of financial resources & weekly cash forecasts.
  • Streamlining and improving accounting systems & finance procedures.
  • Liaising with internal/ external auditor for any issues related to statutory reports and risk controls.
  • Bi-monthly prepare Borrowing Base Report and directly dealing in audits of those reports.
  • Contribute and support management in decision making.
  • Provide support to business segment managers in analysing performance and efficiencies.
  • Others tasks assigned by the Finance Controller.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance.
  • Qualified CPA Vietnam / ACCA / CPA Australia required.
  • Experienced in coffee industry and a good understanding of financial instruments (future/hedging) is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the same position in MNCs.
  • Exceptional numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Be able to work under high pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – including English language.
  • Good leadership and management abilities.

Systems Knowledge

  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of Hyperion advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Dynamics 365 advantageous.
