Role Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Trade Execution Specialist to work in a truly global environment and to play a key role in our company. The candidate is responsible for the operation and execution of our trading contracts as well as Charter Parties. The role provides long term development potential for someone eager to demonstrate their skills and experience in the fast-paced soft commodities environment.
Business Overview
ED&F Man Liquid Products Division is the leading global supplier in molasses, molasses blends and related liquid products as well as dry products for (mainly) the animal feed industry. We are a pioneer as well as a trader in liquid agricultural by- and co-products. We offer expertise in animal nutrition and feed dispense technology to farmers. We work closely with manufacturers, such as rum and yeast producers, to provide quality products from sustainable sources. Our activities include sourcing, shipping, storage and distribution of molasses, molasses blends and other sugar co-products, as well as vegetable and fish oils and beet pulp pellets.
We are part of ED&F Man Commodities, a world leading trader of agricultural products including coffee, sugar, molasses and animal feed.
Key Accountabilities
- Completing transactional follow-up with counterparties
- Day-to-day operation of contracts (issuance, checking, amendments and follow-up)
- Preparing, checking, amending and follow up of finance documents, documentary credits, bod bonds, payments, invoices etc.
- Preparing vessel nominations and documentary instructions (B/l’s, Certificate of Origin, customs documents, Health Certificates etc)
- Negotiating key logistical and commercial terms
- Assisting in P&L control by managing operational changes in the system
- Quantity and Quality issue resolution
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate would have all of the experience points referenced above, however the role is somewhat unique in where it sits between typical trading operations and back office, therefore we appreciate that some candidates may have the occasional gap:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with physical operations and/or logistics
- Experience in liquid bulk vessel operations
- Experience in commodity trading, , logistics and shipping
- Knowledge about GTC, contracts, letters of Credit etc
- Advanced excel skills is a plus
- Fluent in English is a must
