Market Risk Analyst (APAC Markets) Night role 8pm - 4am

ED&F Man Capital Markets have an exciting opportunity for a Market Risk Analyst to cover the APAC markets in New York.  The successful candidate will be responsible for developing analytic processes and monitoring risk in Equities, Commodities, FX, and Fixed Income.  The ideal candidate will grow into a multi-disciplined role involving market risk analysis, reporting and data modeling.  This role would enable the candidate to further develop and expand their knowledge of traded products, risk methodologies and various market analysis tools.
Please note that due to the nature of this role the working hours are 8pm – 4am. 

Your Responsibilities


• Monitor market risk (customer and house portfolios), conduct ad-hoc risk analysis
• Continuous interaction with global front office staff including exercising delegated authorities for trades/positions outside the limits
• Review and adjust customer and house trading limits
• Produce daily risk reports
• Conduct ongoing review and enhancement of the risk management framework; collaborate with internal developers and external vendors on risk systems/applications development
• Manage several projects including improving existing processes, risk models and methodologies
• Maintain the Global Stress Parameters – conduct studies that involve sourcing, cleansing and reviewing historical statistical analysis and simulation of our product universe
• Liaise with compliance, operations, and IT to enforce and implement new risk management related regulation/rules

Your Experience

• Background in fixed income or commodities trading or operations is strongly preferred
• Minimum Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a quantitative field (math, finance, engineering, computer science, etc.)
• Understanding of VaR methodologies and concepts
• Experience in Stress Testing and/or Stress Scenario Design
• Programming skills a plus (experience with SQL Server / VBA / Java / C++)
• Good communication, problem-solving and implementation skills
• Ability to work and communicate with staff of all levels including senior management and front office
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude
