Dynamics AX Consultant

The Dynamics AX Consultant is an integral member of the Solutions Design & Development Team. As a key member of the team you will be required to work alongside the existing project team providing technical support, advice and training as well as working closely with the Head of Solution Design and our AX implementation partner to meet key project requirements and milestones.

The candidate will work with cross-functional teams to participate in gathering requirements to meet business needs. Using your skills and experience as a senior Dynamics AX functional consultant, you will then use those requirements to design, develop, test and implement Dynamics AX.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Implementing plans for delivering Dynamics AX in ED&F Man
  • Provide support, advice and training to the project team
  • Assist the existing development team in meeting development targets
  • Provide assistance and support throughout the User Acceptance Testing phase
  • Data Cleansing, Consolidation and Migration from legacy systems
  • Documentation of AX Processes and Procedures
  • Security modelling and configuration
  • Provide end user training and support throughout the project
  • Working with business stakeholders to define business requirements
  • Participate in business analysis activities to gather functional requirements
  • Translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement solutions
  • Provide support as required to ensure the availability and performance of the solution for internal user

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience developing and implementing enterprise-scale ERP solutions:
    o Working with users in a requirements analysis role
    o Experience with Dynamics AX implementations
  • Hands-on experience and proficiency with Dynamics AX including some or all of:
    o Financials
    o Sales Ledger
    o Purchase Ledger
    o Manufacturing & Distribution
    o Production
    o CRM
    o Administration
  • Ability to map and configure business requirements into Dynamics AX
  • Excellent communication skills; able to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Understanding of data integration issues (validation and cleaning), familiarity with complex data and structures
  • Excellent interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills are required to support working in project environments that include internal, external and customer teams
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities
  • Must be able to perform duties with low supervision
